‘We’re not going to break up’: Why these two Brisbane mates bought a house together

A Brisbane guy and girl have taken things into their own hands and bought a house together. But they’re not a couple. They’re not even dating – they’re just mates.

Place Advisory director Lachlan Walker said it was no surprise to see the friends face such stiff competition in buying a house like this, with their desire to be close to public transport in line with a recent report on buyer sentiment.

Mr Walker said the Buyer Sentiment Report from Place Advisory showed that, overwhelmingly, the most important factor in Brisbane buyers’ purchasing decision was proximity to public transport.

“People would look to move further away from town, and not be in the guts of things if they had access to public transport and the ability to get from point A to point B quickly,” Mr Walker said.
